Balls, Bearings, Shafting
Bearings made from SAE52100 chrome steel are usually heat treated to between 60-65 HRC. This is a high carbon chromium steel allowing for high efficiency and long life. Operating temperature is approximately up to 120 Degrees Celcius. If your application requires better corrosion resistance or higher heat tolerance, see AISI440C Stainless Steel.
The main component of the steel is Fe (Iron) with the addition of the elements shown in the following chart
